The Prince’s Mead Association (PMA) Raises £3,700 to Save the Pantanal

15th January 25

The Prince’s Mead community has once again demonstrated its commitment to fundraising by raising an incredible £3,700 for the Rainforest Trust’s ‘Save the Pantanal’ project. This achievement was made possible thanks to generous donations from pupils and parents, which initially raised £926 during their 2024 fundraising efforts and, through match funding initiatives, has been quadrupled to reach an impressive £3,700.

The Rainforest Trust’s ‘Save the Pantanal’ project focuses on protecting one of the world’s largest tropical wetlands, in west-central Brazil, eastern Bolivia and Paraguay. The Pantanal is home to a stunning diversity of wildlife, including Jaguars, Giant Otters, over 656 bird species, and 3,500 plant species. Funds raised will contribute to securing vital habitats, preventing deforestation, and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

Chair of the PMA, Chris Cousins, expressed his gratitude to everyone involved, saying,

“This incredible achievement reflects the generosity of our school community. Voted for by the children, our support of the Rainforest Trust in 2024 aligned perfectly with the school’s commitment to sustainability and values of kindness and respect.”

The Prince’s Mead Association organised a series of events throughout the year, bringing together pupils, parents, and staff in support of this important cause. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this outstanding effort. Together, we are making a tangible difference in preserving our planet’s precious ecosystems for future generations.
