The weather was perfect for this year’s Sports Day, and all the pupils were thrilled to compete in a variety of events. The day began with the Nursery showcasing their straight-line running, which was impressive for 3- and 4-year-olds. Their faces lit up with smiles as they shuttled bean bags, balanced eggs on spoons, and jumped in their sacks. Parents contributed to the lively atmosphere by cheering and encouraging their amazing children.
At 10 a.m., the Pre-Prep students took to the track for their events, including sprints, agility races, and relays. The children performed brilliantly, cheering each other on and supporting their peers. Year 2 pupils concluded the morning with a 200m sprint and the challenging circular relays with non-visual changeovers, impressing both teachers and parents.
The Prep School Sports Day, arguably the flagship event of the sporting calendar, lived up to its reputation once again. All pupils participated in five events, three of which they chose themselves, ranging from track events to javelin, high jump, long jump, and ball throw. Records were shattered this year, surpassing last year’s impressive 14 new records with a remarkable 20 new school records set, and Oak House securing the top spot this year with a total of 1412 points.
