In the spirit of giving and compassion, we have made a generous donation to the Winchester & District Home-Start Christmas Gift Appeal.
Prince’s Mead staff and pupils have wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of their community by amassing over 90 presents which will go to the families that Home-Start are supporting this Christmas.
Home-Start volunteers support parents who are facing challenging situations. They operate throughout Winchester and the surrounding rural areas, including two wards in the city that are amongst the most deprived areas in the UK. The Charity launched the Christmas Gift to collect donations of gifts for those children who face a Christmas with no magical moments to brighten their day.
Prince’s Mead Headmaster, Adam King, expressed his pride for the pupils taking part:
“Christmas is a time for coming together and showing kindness to those in need. Our pupils and staff have embraced this opportunity to share the joy of Christmas with families who are facing challenges. It’s heart-warming to see the spirit of generosity alive in our school community.”
Office Manager at Home-Start Winchester & Districts, Sue Barham:
“I am always overwhelmed by the generosity that we see each year towards our Christmas Gift Appeal and we are extremely thankful to Prince’s Mead for their continuing support each year. Together we are bringing hope and joy to children who need it the most. The earliest years make the biggest difference to a child’s future and we are making sure that those years count and that no child’s future is limited.”
