It was a pleasure to welcome a large number of prospective parents and their youngest children to Prince’s Mead for our Pre-School Open Morning last Saturday, where our visitors certainly saw the best of the School on a stunning September morning. Our visiting families were certainly wowed by the facilities and opportunities on offer. It is very exciting indeed to witness the growing interest too in our Nursery that launches in Easter 2020.
On Tuesday the school was awash with some impressive international costumes; a wonderful way to celebrate the importance of Modern Foreign Languages at Prince’s Mead. I know that this involves a lot of work at home getting the children ready, so thank you for your input and creativity and to Madame Martin for arranging an exciting day of workshops, international cuisine and language activities.
It was a pleasure to head out with maps in hand to the Queen Elizabeth Country Park on Wednesday. It was most reassuring to see that the downpours did not dampen the spirits of Year 3 nor their determination to navigate their way around the stunning forest parkland.
Thank you to Year 5 and 6 parents for attending the Year 5 and 6 Trips Briefing this week where Mr Greenaway, Mr Thomas and I had the opportunity to outline some of the outstanding residential opportunities on offer for their children from bushcraft activities to sea and mountains, I sensed many were encouraged by the direction of travel in this important area of Prince’s Mead life.
Wishing you all a very happy weekend.
Mr Peter Thacker
