The Prince’s Mead Music Festival got underway on Tuesday 18th March in the Mirror Room, filling the school with music and celebration. Over the course of the day, we were delighted to welcome two independent adjudicators who listened carefully to each of our talented performers as they took to the stage, striving to be awarded the coveted gold sticker. Both adjudicators commented on the exceptionally high standard this year, making the decision to select gold award recipients an incredibly difficult task.
Throughout the day, pupils showcased their musical talents across a variety of instruments, including the violin, piano, guitar, trumpet, and flute. Each section of the Festival was organised by age or musical grade, providing the perfect platform for every performer to shine. There were also some beautiful vocal performances, with children demonstrating not only technical skill but also real confidence and stage presence.
From stirring piano pieces to melodic flute solos, vibrant trumpet performances, intricate guitar playing, and expressive violin recitals, the Festival was a true celebration of the rich musical talent we have at Prince’s Mead. The children gave their all, performing with skill, enthusiasm, and panache, making it a thoroughly enjoyable day for all who attended, including the many proud parents in the audience.
The week concluded with the Festival Concert on the evening of Thursday 20th March, held in the glorious Mirror Room. This special event provided an opportunity for selected performers to share their music and was a fitting finale to a wonderful week of music. Festival Cups were awarded, recognising outstanding musical achievements.
We are incredibly proud of every pupil who took part in the Festival and the Festival Concert. It was a joy to see our young musicians performing with such confidence, and we look forward to seeing their musical journeys continue to flourish.
Bravo to everyone involved.
