Celebrating a Record Breaking 23 Scholarships

We are delighted to announce that its Year 6 pupils have achieved an outstanding 23 scholarships, the highest number in the school’s history. This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and talent of our pupils, as well as the unwavering support and expertise of our dedicated teaching staff.
Among these scholarships, an impressive 10 were awarded for academic excellence, a testament to the strength of the curriculum and intellectual curiosity fostered at Prince’s Mead. The scholarships, spanning academic, sport, performing arts, and art, were granted by some of the country’s most respected senior schools, further highlighting our exceptional standards.
Head, Adam King, expressed his pride in the pupils’ success, stating:
“This record-breaking number of scholarships is a testament to the incredible commitment and passion of our pupils, supported by their teachers and families. At Prince’s Mead, we strive to nurture and develop each child’s individual talents, and this accomplishment reflects that ethos. We are immensely proud of every pupil and look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in their next chapter.”
Prince’s Mead is a truly independent school educating pupils up to the age of 11, with no affiliated senior school. This means that pupils move on to a diverse range of independent and state senior schools, both locally and further afield. As the eldest pupils in the school, the Year 6 cohort enjoys unique leadership opportunities such as Head Girl and Boy roles, as well as serving as prefects and mentors to the younger years. They also participate in the Prince’s Mead AIM Higher Programme, designed to prepare them for the transition to senior school after their entrance examinations.
The AIM Higher Programme includes exciting and enriching experiences such as a climb up Helvellyn, a school production of a West End musical (The Lion King this year), workshops with performing arts companies, and a week-long residential trip. These opportunities ensure our pupils leave Prince’s Mead with confidence, resilience, and a sense of adventure as they embark on the next stage of their education.
