This week we held the much-anticipated Annual Prince’s Mead Drama Festival. A day for celebrating the achievements of the pupils who work so incredibly hard to learn the technical and interpretive skills of performance.
Following on from a week of LAMDA examinations across Year 2 to Year 6, the Festival provides an opportunity for the pupils to perform in front of an audience and receive valuable feedback from a professional adjudicator.
This year we invited Alex Lonsdale to be our adjudicator. Alex is an experienced theatre director, producer and teacher. He started his career as an actor with the National Youth Theatre and is now Co-Director of Seawitch Theatre, with whom he is an Associated Artist of Theatre Royal Plymouth, and the Producer for Half Cut Theatre, touring open-air adaptations of classic texts across the UK.
Every child chose their favourite piece to perform from James and the Giant Peach and Wind and the Willows, to Winnie the Pooh and Fantastic Mr Fox. And performed with passion and confidence.
