The music department plays a key role in the development of the creative skills of our pupils. We have an orchestra, ensembles, brass groups, a wind band and a number of choirs.
Throughout the year many concerts and music workshops are held. Peripatetic instrumental teachers visit the school on a regular basis and offer pupils private lessons in a wide range of instruments. Many of these pupils have successfully taken either Associated Board or Guildhall grade exams, with a high percentage gaining merit, distinction or honours.
Drama continues to be one of the most popular curriculum lessons at Prince’s Mead. Children love performing and from an early age, they are given all the stagecraft tools necessary for putting on a variety of productions during their time at the school including Nativity Plays, class assemblies and musical theatre presentations, all culminating in the Year 6 production at the end of their school journey..
